BAKERLOK is a superior thread locking compound that is frequently used in case, or tubing, or drilling joints to reduce the chances of unintentional separation of string components while the drilling process is in progress.
FEATURES BAKERLOK
- Endures High Breakout Torque: Tests done on bottom hole temperatures varying between 50° through 400° F indicated Bakerlok withstood higher torque than a standard joint welded at three points with 2 inch beads.
- Simple stirring: Bakerlok thread locking compound is a special type of construction material that is designed to provide a uniform mixing consistency for most operational conditions.
- Longer ‘potlife’ after mixing: Both catalysts and compound batteries in Bakerlok are special in their design in that they can maintain a potlife in excess of one hour; even at high.
- Not influenced by Vibrations: A 400° F Bakerlok treated joint was exposed to constant breakout torque for 8 hours while being exposed to continues Air Hammer vibration. The breakout torque was increased to six times the prescribed makeup torque before the joint finally broke.
- High Lubricity: Tests using Bakerlok were conducted using API modified Thread dope side by side. With the same amount of Torque, the Bakerlok treated joint was cooler than that which was treated with standard thread dope. bakerlok has a friction Factor / Torque Factor of 1.18.
